Temporary Anchorage Devices

Temporary Anchorage Devices (TADs) are microimplants that we use to provide anchorage for movements that would otherwise be impossible, or require extra-oral appliances (outside the mouth) to achieve. They get put into the gums and bone and stick out a little in order for your braces to be attached to them and they kind of look like a small ear-ring. This mouth jewelry is a great tool that can help obtain better and more dramatic results that would otherwise be possible with braces alone and can sometimes help certain patients avoid jaw surgery.
