Meet the Doctor
Meet Dr. Jan – Dr. Jan is originally from Hilo, Hawaii. She attended dental school at the University of the Pacific in San Francisco, California and graduated with honors and induction into the Tao Kappa Omega, and Omega Kappa Upsilon dental honors societies. She was accepted to do her residency at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Center.

Here at Yamashiro Orthodontics, we do our best to offer state of the art treatments in a warm comforting environment. We have digital x-rays that significantly reduce the amount of radiation one is exposed to during imaging, and are much more comfortable than the ones that normally go inside your mouth.

As you walk through our office, you will notice that everything is clean, comfortable and thoroughly sterilized. Your safety and comfort are our priority. We know that the cost of care can be confusing.

Braces come in a lot of different shapes, sizes, and colors, but they all typically have a few of the same things in common. A set of brackets (metal or ceramic) are glued onto the surface of your teeth, and then a flexible wire is attached to them using either an elastic tie, metal tie, or metal door. This wire conforms to the contours of your misaligned teeth, and over a certain period of time, it wants to spring back to its original form, and as it does this, it brings the brackets and teeth with it.

I'm truly impressed with Dr. Jan and her fantastic team! My 9 year son has a few projects we need to fix and I've got to say I was extremely nervous. After my first visit I was completely comfortable and Happy! My son gets out of the car and runs for the door at every appointment. Connections are everything! Been having a great experience getting Braces at Yamashiro Orthodontics this past year. Dr. Jan is wonderful in her demeanor and professional treatment. Jennifer, Ashley, and Scarlett have also been great with all of the tightenings, new brackets, bands, power chains.... The list goes on ad infinitum. I'd highly recommend them!
